Hello, my name is Andrew U. For about as long as I can remember, my father has worked in greenhouses, growing everything from chrysanthemums to peppers, hemp to guayule and in quantities that would boggle the mind. I’ve always been fascinated by the craft, believing whole-heartedly that to work the soil and to care for the land was an honorable profession.
And as life continued, I seized many opportunities to learn about the plants that my father grew, be it commercial produce like cauliflower, ornamentals like gerbera daisies, or herbs to use in the kitchen like basil or rosemary. In doing so, I began to learn more and more about permaculture, deep nutrition, holistic and Ayurvedic medicine, how to create oils and tinctures and salves from various herbs and spices and the wonderful array of benefits this would yield. And from this, the cycle was completed. I had gained a profound understanding of the symbiotic relationship between Man and Earth. This in turn led to a desire to not just follow in my father’s footsteps, but to transcend the mundane and create something of my own.
Here will be the start of my journey, my flagship enterprise: my own greenhouse from which I could brighten the world (or at least the neighborhood) with dazzling ornamentals and provide oils, salves, herbs, spices, and much more to the community at large, allowing any and all to partake in traditional remedies in the modern era or simply stock their kitchen better than ever before. This venture would, if all goes well, lead to even bigger enterprises in the future, but first thing’s first.
The donation goal is currently set to $225,000.00, though this may change in the future. Donations will go towards acquiring land and building the facility needed to house and grow the various organic plants needed for this business. As well, materials such as seed, soil, and fertilizer are on the list. It may seem like a lot, but it’s a worthwhile investment, and one that would undoubtedly benefit the community.
